How to check tyre tread depth.

Checking your tyre tread is quick and easy – all you need is an Australian 20c coin.


To check the tread depth, place a 20c coin into one of the central grooves running around your tyre. If the tread does not reach the bill of the platypus, it means there is less than 3mm of tread remaining. This is a sign that your tyres should be replaced to help maintain safety and confidence on the road.
