Among the many achievements of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ is the remarkable balance it strikes between out-and-out sports car – built for enthusiasts who crave the thrill of a race car – and the refinement and practicality of a modern grand tourer.
That balance stems from feedback from drivers who loved the ferocity of previous GT performance cars while seeking a more versatile and accessible driving experience. The car is still unmistakably an AMG – loud, dramatic and immensely quick – it’s now just equally at home on roads as it is on racetracks.
As the most powerful model in the Mercedes-AMG GT line-up, the GT 63 PRO delivers track-level performance without compromising everyday usage.
Sculpted by performance
Visually, the GT 63 PRO maintains the dramatic proportions expected of a high-performance coupé. Its long bonnet, wide stance and muscular bodywork immediately communicate its racing pedigree. The coupé is larger than its predecessor, with a longer, wider and slightly taller body that gives it a more planted and purposeful appearance.
Enhanced aerodynamics play a significant role in shaping the car’s design. Large air intakes dominate the front fascia, feeding air to radiators, brakes and cooling systems. Carbon-fibre deflectors guide airflow through the body, while a fixed rear wing from the standard aerodynamics package, together with an active aerodynamic profile in the underbody and revised air‑guide elements, reduces lift and increases stability at high speed.
Within the cabin, Nappa Leather upholstery features on the supportive AMG Performance seats. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster displays detailed driving information and telemetry, while an 11.9-inch portrait-style infotainment display runs the MBUX system with smartphone connectivity and AMG Track Pace performance data logging. Carbon-fibre trim and a flat-bottom AMG steering wheel reinforce the cockpit’s sporty character.
Unusual for a car with such strong track credentials, the GT 63 PRO also includes two small rear seats and significantly improved luggage space, expanding its appeal.
Formidable power
At the heart of the GT 63 PRO lies a familiar yet formidable engine: Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8. In this application, it produces 450kW and 850Nm of torque, sending power through a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission to an advanced 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
The numbers alone hint at the performance on offer. Acceleration from 0–100km/h takes just 3.2 seconds, placing the GT 63 PRO firmly among the world’s great sports cars. More impressive, however, is how the car delivers its power. The V8 produces relentless thrust across the rev range, building speed with a sense of urgency that feels effortless rather than frantic.
