This is what sets Mercedes-Benz saloons apart.
For more than 60 years, luxury Mercedes-Benz saloons have been providing elegance and relaxation on the road. In 1953, Mercedes-Benz presented the Model 180. The upper mid-range saloon was the first passenger car with a self-supporting body and 3-box design, and was considered a pioneer of automotive modernity. The Model 180 laid the foundation for all current Mercedes-Benz saloons. They continue to represent a sporty, elegant design and top-class comfort to the present day. Beyond this, since 2021, the consistently fully-electric luxury EQE and EQS saloons from Mercedes-EQ have been setting new standards for forward-looking design, innovative connectivity and fascinating everyday comfort.
A sedan is defined as a conventional passenger car with a stepped rear end and four doors, i.e. the conventional "3-box design".
Modern automotive design sometimes blurs the boundaries between traditional body types, creating exciting hybrids for specific customer interests. A 4-door coupé such as the CLA combines the sedan concept with the falling roofline of a coupé and represents a design concept that is both sporty and sensual.
We have two fully electric, upper-range sedans in our model range; the EQE and EQS Sedans. The EQE represents the sporty business avant-garde, while the EQS takes on the role of a progressive luxury sedan in the Mercedes-Benz product range.
