Mercedes-Maybach has always stood for luxury and design innovation. Now, with the debut of the all new Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, the brand is ushering in a new era.

As the first all-electric vehicle from Mercedes-Maybach, the lavishly appointed SUV seamlessly blends timeless elegance with cutting-edge technology, offering an unparalleled driver – and passenger – experience.

Exquisite exterior

“What is good must also be beautiful,” Karl Maybach insisted, and the founder’s guiding principle is seen at first glance of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.

The vehicle’s grand appearance begins with coherent, flowing lines and exclusive details – like the signature Mercedes-Maybach grille, standup hood star and logo-mesh grilles in the front apron. Polished chrome accents on the door pillars and a bladelike lower side trim enhance the elegant aesthetic. Statement, exclusive 21-inch wheels and optional two-tone paint scheme further distinguish the luxury SUV.

A cocoon of comfort

Balancing traditional craftsmanship with high-tech capabilities, the interior of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV creates a luxurious cocoon of comfort.

This is particularly evident in the backseat, which rivals that of a first-class jet or high-end spa. The Executive Rear Seat Package Plus – which is optionally available but standard in the Night Series – offers massaging calf rests, folding tables, cup holders that warm and cool, and even a champagne chiller and flutes, turning every journey into the ultimate indulgence.

For added space and comfort, the standard three-passenger rear seat configuration is easily transformed into a space for up to two occupants with a wide, edge-lit centre armrest providing storage and a docking MBUX tablet. Twin 11.6-inch, high-resolution touchscreens with internet access are mounted on the back of the front seats and can be used for work or entertainment.

Better still, the entire experience inside the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV can be tailored to you; active ambient lighting uses 253 individually controlled LEDs to set a cabin mood that matches your own, with Mercedes-Maybach-exclusive rose gold and amethyst glow among the 64 available colours. The interior’s cocooning effect is complemented by a range of soothing fragrances which gently scent the cabin at three different strength levels. The specially designed Mood No. 12, for example, mixes notes of sandalwood, freesia and clove.

Personalisation extends to the intuitive digital cockpit, too. Not only will it respond to the driver’s voice or touch, the settings and displays also adapt to the driver’s preferences.

In-cabin technology is naturally state-of-the-art; MBUX voice control and custom graphical displays are featured on the car’s multimedia Hyperscreen – which includes a 12.3-inch LED instrument cluster, and two touchscreens measuring 17.7 inches and 12.3 inches (positioned in view of the front-seat passenger). The display supplies customisable instrumentation, including analogue-style gauges with digital and graphical readouts tailored exclusively for electric driving. Illustrated and animated menus include readouts for vehicle information, feature settings and driver assistance systems – which are easy to scroll through via the touch control buttons on the left side of the steering wheel.

Moving on air

Heading out on the road, the first thing you’ll notice is how peaceful it is inside the cabin. The electric motor is naturally quiet, and the standard Acoustic Comfort package insulates occupants from exterior noise through features such as laminated glass and reinforced fleece-lined panel inserts. Whether you’re navigating busy streets or long stretches of highway, the almost-silent cabin is like a sanctuary. Outside, artificial sound bites ensure people can hear the car on the road – but inside, you can fully engage with the driving experience.

For passengers, it’s the perfect backdrop to the high-end Burmester® 4D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos capability, which projects the crispest and clearest-sounding tunes throughout the cabin.

Acceleration feels effortless; pressing down on the pedal, the twin electric motors and near-400-volt lithium-ion battery produce a quiet surge of power that can propel the vehicle from 0-100km/h in just over four seconds. A combined 484kW and 950Nm is delivered to all four wheels through the agile 4MATIC® system, ensuring a controlled, responsive drive and instant adaptability depending on the road surface and selected drive mode.

Driving modes include ECO, Sport, OFFROAD, Individual and MAYBACH – an exclusive setting that prioritises comfort for the rear passengers by minimising body motion under the rear seats. MAYBACH is the default mode, but toggling between the others adjusts the drivetrain response, steering effort and suspension to suit different needs and preferences.

As the car gains speed, it practically glides along the road. This is largely thanks to the advanced AIRMATIC® suspension system; self-levelling and height adjustable, it easily adapts to different road surfaces and load changes, delivering a smooth, moving-on-air driving sensation.

Despite its size, the vehicle is surprisingly nimble. The standard rear axle steering, with a 4.5° steering angle adjustment, offers the agility of a smaller vehicle, allowing the driver to approach tight corners and navigate precise manoeuvres with confidence.

The vehicle’s impressive NEDC-tested range of 662km (depending on conditions) means fewer stops for charging – but for those longer journeys, recharging from 10-80 per cent takes up to around 30 minutes. An ECO Assist feature also processes data from the vehicle's driving assistance and navigation systems – for example, GPS and map data, topography, and traffic – to help the driver maximise efficiency and energy recuperation from braking or coasting.

Elevating elegance with the Night Series

Building on the luxurious foundation of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, the Night Series edition adds a selection of elegant and expressive design details. Dark chrome and black exterior accents – including a rose-gold Mercedes-Maybach emblem with dark chrome touches, grille with darkened pinstripes, and front air intake inserts with a dark chrome-plated Mercedes-Maybach emblem – enhance the car’s already striking exterior.

The look is completed by side windows with highly polished black edging in a 3D design, along with 21-inch, seven-spoke light-alloy Mercedes-Maybach wheels, which are unique to the series. Inside, the combination of walnut-coloured wood interior trims in a herringbone pattern, and nappa leather black pearl upholstery, create an even more refined, minimalist appearance.

The luxuriously appointed vehicles that define the Mercedes-Maybach heritage have, for the first time, been seamlessly paired with advanced all-electric driving technology and powerful, efficient performance – tradition and evolution in one sophisticated package.
