With the G-TURN offroad function, you can turn your G-Class spectacularly almost on the spot. The vehicle even rotates by up to 720° in the desired direction on unpaved or loose surfaces. The function can help you manoeuvre, especially on seemingly hopeless offroad stretches.

The G-STEERING offroad function reduces the turning circle of your G-Class if required – on unpaved or loose surfaces and at speeds of up to 25 km/h. The drive torque on each wheel adapts individually to the respective situation, allowing you to master Hairpin bends or other narrow sections without time-consuming maneuvering.

Offroad crawling can support you with controlled offroad driving – for example, when the route is steep or the ground is loose. If you release the brakes when LOW RANGE offroad reduction is active, your G-Class will start rolling slowly by itself and maintain its speed. You can use the steering wheel gearshift paddles to set these in up to 3 creep stages.

Master any terrain with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class' LOW RANGE gearset. Engage with a button press for increased wheel torque, enabling smooth starts on steep inclines and controlled descents. The 9G-TRONIC adapts for optimal offroad performance.

The climbing ability of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is up to 100% on appropriate ground. This means it can master steep gradients of up to 45° if required. 

Simply and stylishly charge your electric Mercedes-Benz at home using the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox (available separately). With a charging power of up to 22 kW (dependent on vehicle and household capabilities) and the intuitive Mercedes-Benz App for operation, you can charge your G 580 with EQ Technology at up to 11kW (dependent on household capabilities), significantly faster than with a household socket.

With MB.CHARGE Public, Mercedes-Benz offers its customers access to one of the largest public charging networks in the country. Charging sessions can be started seamlessly via the Mercedes-Benz App or the vehicles MBUX multimedia system.

Experience comfortable Navigation with Electric Intelligence. The navigation system not only suggests the optimal route, including all necessary charging stops, but also calculates the expected charging costs. In addition, you have the option to edit the planned route individually at any time by adding preferred charging stations along the route or rejecting suggested charging stations.

The active range monitoring checks continuously during the journey whether the entered destination will be reached with the current battery charge level. The system supports you if this is too low and it does not find an alternative route. For example, you will receive a recommendation of the maximum speed at which you should still reach your destination.

If navigation is activated, your vehicle "knows" the next charging stop and brings the battery to the best possible charging temperature while you are still driving. Thanks to automatic preconditioning you can make optimum use of the charging power. Without active route guidance, the battery is tempered during the charging process itself and thus may not charge at full speed.

Thanks to intelligent linking of camera and map data, Traffic Sign Assist is not only able to detect maximum permissible speeds, but also overtaking restrictions and when they are lifted. It also shows no-entry restrictions and warns you against incorrectly entering roads against the flow of traffic.

The system can help to avoid collisions with vehicles moving in front or stationary vehicles, oncoming traffic when turning, pedestrians and cyclists. Along with distance and collision warnings, the system primarily offers situation appropriate braking assistance including performing an emergency stop, if necessary.

If you cross a broken or continuous line unintentionally, the system can warn you by making the steering wheel vibrate. With a continuous line, or if the lane behind a broken line has been identified as occupied, the assistance system can intervene further with braking on one side of the vehicle.

3 climate zones enable an individual feel-good climate on board. The driver and front passenger can determine the temperature and air distribution according to their personal requirements. The 3rd climate zone is in the rear – with separately adjustable temperature and airflow.
