300 D S 124 (1989-1993), Estate, Taxi

The second-generation Estate models, which were presented for the first time at the IAA - the world's largest international motor show in Frankfurt am Main in Germany - in 1985, not only enjoyed great popularity among private individuals, but were also frequently used as taxis. Just like their predecessors, the new Estate models were also produced at the plant in Bremen, which at this point had already completely switched to passenger car production. Only a few years later, in September 1989, the car manufacturer presented a completely revamped middle-class model program at the IAA - the world's largest international motor show in Frankfurt am Main in Germany - which featured mainly stylistic changes. For example, it was mainly the side rub strips that made the new models stand out from their predecessors. As a miniature model, the 300 D S 124 Estate is also highly impressive and all its details are fully based on its larger role model. The faithful copy of the decorated and flocked interior makes collectors’ hearts beat faster, as do the six parts that can be opened on the 1:18 model (doors, tailgate and bonnet). A special highlight here is also the painting finish in the authentic colour shade: a star with the inscription "The faster the world changes, the more important are enduring values" is printed on the driver's and front passenger's side. The precision model, which is assembled by hand from more than 118 individual parts, is delivered in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging. A screwdriver and a glove are also included to protect the model from any fingerprints when it is removed.
