In December 1984, a new model generation appeared in the mid-size model series, which was to succeed the 123 model series that had been produced for years. This new series drew close parallels to the Compact class, as here too the aerodynamic optimisation of the body resulted in a significant reduction in fuel consumption. Just a few years later, a completely overhauled mid-range model program was presented at the IAA - the world's largest international motor show in Frankfurt am Main in Germany - in 1989, including a redesign of the interior and the use of rub strips. The miniature model of the 230 E Saloon W 124 follows its larger role model in many details and has a painting finish in the authentic colour shade as well as being a faithful copy of all details in the decorated high-quality interior. The six parts that can be opened - doors, bonnet and tailgate - also make the precision model, which is hand-assembled from more than 122 individual parts, a special highlight in any collection. The Saloon is delivered in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging. A screwdriver and a glove are included to help remove the model from the packaging and to protect it from any fingerprints.
