If the system identifies in the blind spot zone, it warns drivers with a red triangle in the corresponding exterior mirror. If the turn signal is activated despite this visual warning, the triangle will flash quickly and an audible alert will sound. The system uses proximity sensors to monitor an area of approximately 3 metres to the side and rear of the vehicle.
