New and demonstrator vehicles including Mercedes-AMG, EQ vehicles and V-Class.

The Plan is our promise to you that Mercedes-Benz will repair or replace manufacturing defects in material or workmanship which arise during the warranty period free of charge.

However, the Plan only covers the vehicle as manufactured by us and does not cover any modification, accessories, bodies, or other goods or services supplied by a third party manufacturer or supplier.

The warranty period is 5 years (60 months) from the date of first registration of the vehicle subject to the below;
a)     If your vehicle is used in commercial application the warranty period is 5 years (60 months) from the date of first registration of the vehicle or until the vehicle has travelled 200,000 kilometres (or 250,000 kilometres for V-Class), whichever occurs first; “Commercial application” means using the vehicle for commercial purposes or public transport purposes such as a taxi or other hire, rental, rideshare or charter vehicle (including on a part-time or casual basis)
b)     Battery warranty periods vary for both private and commercial use. Please see the Warranty Statement for full warranty period terms.
c)     For demonstrator vehicles, warranty times differ. For Western Australia, a demonstrator vehicle warranty begins when the vehicle is delivered to the customer (not when first registered) but kilometres are counted from when the vehicle is put into service as a demonstrator vehicle (if kilometre restrictions apply). For all other states, demonstrator vehicle warranty begins when the vehicle is first registered.

Subject to mileage limits for vehicles used in commercial applications**, the Owner Protection Plan for EQ provides 5 years unlimited kilometre coverage, including coverage for the 12-volt battery for 3 years unlimited kilometre coverage. The EQ Owner Protection Plan also covers the High Voltage (HV) Battery for 8 years or 160,000km, whichever occurs first, with some models covered longer*. All precautions, which are usual and reasonable, have been taken to ensure the quality of the materials and workmanship in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. However, if any manufacturing defect arises and is presented to one of the Company’s Authorised Mercedes-Benz EQ Retailers or Authorised Mercedes-Benz EQ Service and Parts Centres within the protection period outlined in the terms and conditions, and upon examination of the vehicle, if the defect is confirmed and caused by defective material or workmanship, Mercedes-Benz Australia will repair the vehicle and/or replace (at its election) the defective part at no cost to you**.

*The High Voltage (HV) battery for the EQE and EQS is covered for 10 years or 250,000km, whichever occurs first.
**Refer to the Mercedes-Benz 5 year warranty statement for more information. This document is available for download above.

If the defective materials or workmanship do not relate to manufacture, then the repair or replacement of the defect won't be covered by the Plan. This means that the Plan will not cover defects caused by the following, which is a summary of the main exclusions (please see the Warranty Statement for more detail):

• Ignoring any instructions contained in the service booklet or failing to correctly respond to any warning lights or messages in the vehicle that appear on the dashboard information system.
• If you misuse your vehicle – including not driving it in accordance with the instructions in the service booklet, driving at excessive speeds, engaging in competition or motor sports or exceeding the vehicle’s capacity in regards to use, application or load.

At Mercedes-Benz, we are focussed on getting you back on the road as quickly and effortlessly as possible.
