The Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is the most intense way of experiencing a sports car. Unlimited open-top motoring enjoyment and impressive performance create pure emotive appeal. With a top speed of 316 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, it is oriented right at the limits of driving dynamics. Highlights include the AMG rear axle steering, the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension and the wide rear end.

AMG exhaust

The typical AMG V8 sound signature is powerful when accelerating. Noise levels remain more discreet if a constant speed is maintained. Chrome-plated trim on the two integral tailpipes adds an eye-catching flourish.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G

The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission excites with its rapid gear changes and emotionally appealing rev matching. DYNAMIC SELECT, however, also provides convenient drive programs for relaxed, efficient cruising.

The dual-clutch transmission consists of two sub-transmissions: while one transmits torque to the wheels, the other is already preselecting the next gear. This facilitates instant gear changes and extremely short shift times.

Torque tube

The front mid-engine forms a fixed unit with the dual-clutch transmission located behind it. The two components are connected by a torque tube with high resistance to bending and torsion.

Inside there is an extremely lightweight, torsionally stiff drive shaft made of carbon fibre. It transmits the output of the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G, which ultimately transforms the power into acceleration. Inconceivably fast and breathtaking.

AMG sports suspension

The suspension's double wishbone concept is successful in motorsport and enables the AMG sports suspension to deliver a convincing racetrack performance.

The double wishbone concept provides excellent lateral dynamics and handling stability at high speeds, as well as good adjustability to external factors such as crosswind, bumps in the road or sudden changes in the friction coefficient.

AMG V8 biturbo engine

The AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine in the GT C Roadster delivers 410 kW and generates peak torque of 680 Nm. Equally impressive is its dry weight of just 245 kg.

The aluminium crankcase provides maximum strength and light weight. The two turbochargers are installed very compactly in a "hot inside V" configuration. The result: optimum response times, extremely high pulling power even at low revs, and improved emissions.

AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension

From comfortable cruising to a sporty driving style: the suspension adapts to your wishes at a push of a button.

"Comfort" provides for well-balanced damping characteristics, while "Sport" and "Sport+" support you with firmer tuning when adopting a sporty driving style. The choice is yours!

    The transaxle design of the drive system allows a traction-boosting weight distribution of 47% to the front and 53% to the rear. For drivers who favour sportier driving, the AMG limited-slip rear-axle differential boosts traction to prevent the inside drive wheel from slipping.

The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with three levels of adjustment and aerodynamics optimised for downforce provide for stable and smooth handling of the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster right up to the critical limits. The aluminium construction makes for an extremely stiff body for the best possible lateral and longitudinal dynamics and maximum steering precision.

    The aerodynamics concept of the Mercedes-AMG GT, developed with motorsport know-how, supports the driver when adopting a dynamic and safe driving style. It combines aerodynamic stability with low wind resistance and incorporates sufficient cooling and a supply of air for all components. The AIRPANEL in the front apron and the electrically extending rear aerofoil actively adjust the aerodynamics to the current driving situation.

Brake disc with AMG high-performance compound braking system from the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster affixed to the wall for display purposes.

The discs made of carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic are exceptionally hard and at the same time 40% lighter than conventional compound brake discs. The advantages of this are an increased service life, the shorter braking distances, an accurate pressure point and maximum fade resistance.
