Mercedes-Benz has set numerous milestones over the years, and added another to the collection earlier this year. The millionth Vito rolled out of the company’s Vitoria factory in May, with the plant’s 40 employees and manager, Emilio Titos, on hand to commemorate the monumental occasion.
The Spanish plant also saw the birth of model, back in 1995, the year the Vito TO was launched. Since then, the increasingly popular van has been sold in 80 countries and served countless satisfied customers around the world.
Production increased from year to year – hitting 75,000 units at the turn of the millennium – before the arrival of the second-generation Vito in 2003, which marked the model’s first milestone. To say the Vito’s been a success would be an understatement. Particularly here in Australia, with its diverse model range proving a hit with the local market and exceeding customer expectations time and time again.
