In 2006, Daimler AG invested 1.5 Billion Euro towards environmental protection with a portion of these funds dedicated to research and development.  For us, innovation is a crucial way of building upon our technological leadership and producing products that contribute to our vision of environmentally acceptable forms of mobility.

When we are planning our new cars, we are also focused on considering what sustainable mobility of the future should look like. Three key areas form the basis of our sustainable Research and Development:

  1. Continuous improvement of internal combustion engines.
  2. Hybrid Drive system development.
  3. Fuel Cell development.
